Composite FAQs
Q: How does the product fade over time?
A: Brite puts raw materials in its product to make it fade resistant. The colour fade that does occur is barely noticeable to the human eye. We have provided a chart in our literature to show you what it looks like over 1, 3 and 5 years. Click Here to view chart.
Q: Does the product scratch easily?
A: Brite has enhanced their product to be more scratch resistant. However, if a scratch ever does occur, because our products texture is made with a wire brush, you can use the wire brush you would use on a BBQ to scratch it out.
Q: Does the product get hot on your feet?
A: The wire brushed finish and the fact that 50% of our product is wood make our product much less hot to the touch than other plastic products.
Q: How much more than wood does your product cost?
A: It depends on where you buy it, but typically 2 - 2.5 times more than pressure treated wood and about 33% more expensive than cedar. However, depending on how you value your time, the payback over the life of your deck will be anywhere from 4-8 years.
