How is it Made
Brite Composite Decking and Railing is made from a combination of virgin plastic resin (high density poly-ethylene) and wood dust. It contains various other raw materials to make it resistant to mold, mildew, rot, fading and termites.
The boards are extruded through a die, then cooled through a cooling tank. They then get brushed with a wire brush. This brushing gives it its natural, wood look and also makes the board slip-resistant.
The boards are then cut to 8', 12', 16' or 20' lengths, packaged on a skid and then bagged for protection. The boards are all laser engraved on the side to ensure that the proper tracking means are in place for quality control. A sample is also taken from the line every 4 hours and broken, to ensure consistency of strength.
Brite puts raw materials in its product to make it fade resistant. The colour fade that does occur is barely noticeable to the human eye. We have provided a chart in our literature to show you what it looks like over 1, 3 and 5 years. Click Here to view chart.
