Wood FAQs

What chemical is the wood treated with?  Is it harmful?
All of our wood products are treated with ACQ, an accepted chemical for all wood species.  ACQ is not harmful in any way, shape or form. For more information visit www.woodpreservation.ca

Are your posts and balls laminated?
No, we use only solid posts and balls, so they give a higher quality, more consistent look to your deck.

Do the staples in your wood lattice rust?
Our staples are double-galvanized, zinc staples that are resistant to rust.

Will your balusters twist?
No.  We use only kiln dried wood, not green wood, so that the moisture is already drawn out of the balusters, eliminating the twisting that occurs in some of our competitors products.

What does FSC certified mean?
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. It is an international, non-profit organization that supports environmentally responsible, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests. Brite Manufacturing has become a certified member in order to continue our commitment to our customers and the environment, by providing them with
quality products that can also meet the growing demand
of green building projects across North America.
